Recycled Bottle Products by Nan Burke

Making cheeseboards, clocks, and bowls out of recycled bottles is really how I funded much of Quicksilver Glass in the beginning in 2004.  I developed techniques of getting glossy firings on bottles, and sandblasted designs onto the flattened surfaces.  Many have entered this market, but my work still stands out.  My blog posting on how to flatten bottles, “How to Get a Flat”, originally written for Glass:CRAFTSMAN, where I was a columnist, is the most popular page on this site.   Most of my attention now is focused on landscapes and tableware, and hopefully a return to jewelry, but I always have a few things made of bottles in my inventory because people are still buying them 15 years later!
